I can buy Picard loving an adventure (we know he does from time to time) just fine. But the way in which it was done was simply very silly.

There's silly and there's silly!

And it wasn't even fun to watch generally. So it doesn't have the benefit of the 'it's rubbish but it's good rubbish' to save it!

Was there a lot of televised publicity for Nemesis? I don't really remember seeing the trailer or much hype at all til a week before it's opening when they dragged out the "last journey" bit. I think saw everything online weeks before.

I understand you hate Nemesis and you love NuTrek. Stop bashing Nemesis for the sake of bashing. It still boggles my mind that a movie that throws out an entire universe and replaces it with a another somehow wins over so many fans, yet Nemesis sucked (to them). I admit NEM was very slow at first, but really... are you going to complain about a dune buggy and the "coincidence" that Shinzon found a Soong type android, yet ignore all the stupid $hit in NuTrek and the overflowwing "coincidences"? They couldn't even get the fact that starships have ONE warp core right and you love NuTrek??

Well, true enough.

It comes back to the 'good rubbish' vs 'rubbish' side of things. Nemesis is just a badly done from people flogging an already dead horse film (by 2002) while the new film is aset of conscious choices made be a group of people trying to get back to basics.

And even from a pure 'fun' factor - Abrams beats Nemesis to death 100 times over.

Of course it feels dated, you like the remake(Nemesis) and the original version(TWOK) is twenty years older. No mystery there.
