I think it would be great to see a recurring admiral in Star Trek. About the only TOS one we ever saw twice was Admiral Cartwright in IV and VI. Starfleet must go thourgh admirals as fast as redshirts!

Bruce should be back in the next movie at least.
Accident or not, that was in TOS.
This is an alternate reality so anything can happen and that's the fun part of Star Trek new style. It can go any way from here on.
He is in the wheelchair at the end of the movie, but that doesn't mean his path will follow that of TOS adventures.
Whatever will happen, i really like the energy and confidence that mr. Greenwood has put into the character of Chris Pike. For that alone his role needs a reprise.

I was hoping they'd bring Pike back: he seems to have been almost universally liked, I think now we have a pretty good chance of having him there for more than a cameo.

Admiral Pike is a key to the rest of the story! I sure hope Bruce stays in . . .

And last time I checked starwarsrcks, Chris Pike saved Kirk's rear on Nemo's ship, so....uh.....he could do alot!

Check out my quote below to see what Chris Pike is all about . . .

Excellent news!! Greenwood was a great asset to the Movie, and I hope they bring him back for many reoccurring appearances.

At one point in the film, he should be in some sort of desperate situation where his only feasible means of communication is Morse Code.

Great post, BTW, NCC!

Big Z, great minds think alike. I hope that doesn't happen, though, because I always thought it a shame for Captain Pike to be messed up the way he was. It's the 23rd Century, and the best they could do for the poor man is an electronic chair with a "beep one for yes, two for no" deal?
(I know the chair was color-coded. I'm simplifying.) Stephen Hawkings can communicate with more grace and eloquence through his device! So, if he is to remain wheelchair-bound, I hope he still has a vital role as an admiral and doesn't the fate that you and I are postulating...that is, IF we are thinking the same thing!

It would be a bright light of hope for the paralysed that in the future, those in wheelchairs would not be viewed as handicapped, but fully able--since it's the mind and passion of life & exploration that drives those in Starfleet.
