I always thought that Admiral Pike should be a presence in this current saga. With this time line change, his destiny is different than what TOS dealt him. Although we saw him crippled at the end of this movie, it was never said that he was permanently crippled. This could very well parallel how Shat/Kirk felt about being promoted to admiral, a "nod" to the original time line. Therefore, I look for Pike to come back and kick some serious a$$ in future films. Go Pike!

I think Pike will be the obligatory admiral that will give Kirk his orders to do whatever needs to be done in the movie.

He could have an appearance like Harve Bennett in TFF.

I still wonder if Pike will meet with an accident.

It looks good for Bruce although he says "there are no guarantees"---
He's so upbeat and excited to be in the sequel and I'm SURE JJ will see that Admiral Pike has a good role. I really want to see the mentor relationship continued between Pike and Kirk. BG has commented on this more than once in past Star Trek interviews. He WANTS to be in this movie and I say YES!!
Also---I don't see Pike staying in that wheel chair very long.

I'm so happy with this article. It's not set in stone, but it sure looks hopeful that BG will be in the sequel. Thank You---this makes my day!!
