They share the over-love for their jobs, and the overexuberance when things go worng. Both would rather read technical journals than date.

With LaForge, it was more of a case that things simply never worked out with him and women. He tried repeatedly to hook up with various women, but it was always doomed to failure for whatever reason.
Had Tasha Yar not died, it is possible that something might have cooked up later down the line with her and LaForge, IMO...

Yar/Worf? They had some things in common.

Why not? They are pretty compatable, each has skilsl th other lacks, so lots of good conversation, both can be pasionate.
Besides, I am sure LaForge looks better at a Betazoid wedding than Riker did. ![]()

Worf was written differently in those days. He was much more standoffish. He would also have only have gone after a Klingon woman back then (Human women were too frail for his liking). I think he respected Yar as a fellow warrior, though.
LaForge, though, specifically looked at Yar and called her beautiful when he was briefly given back his sight and when he was earlier infected with the Psi 2000 virus, he only called out to her for help (touching her face gently in the process after removing his VISOR) and she responded by taking him personally to sickbay rather than allow another security officer to take him there. Ah, alien diseases do make the heart grow fonder, IMO... ![]()

Sure, but we are talking about later down the line. Worf grew a lot as the show went on. If Yar was still around........
