I wasn't implying fans should "force" the film to be successful just because it's TREK. Not only is that a stupid idea, but clearly it doesn't work either, if NEMESIS is any judge.

The better film they make, the more new fans it will draw, the more old fans it will draw...the more profitable it is, and so the higher the chances the franchise will continue.

OH..
you know because I couldn't support that at all. That's so..wrong
I've run into fans like that too.

"Go see it so it will be sucuessful"
I don't think so. It either will be good and people will see it or it's be crap and if it's crap I won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Just do not trust Movie Critics, they see so many films they become numb to everything.

Same goes for Trek, I support Trek for Trek's sake even when it's borderline rubbish and I have full confidence this movie will bring Trek back as a powerhouse. I really really miss having a running TV series.

What about the Bruins?

OK, when they traded Joe Thorton, I admit I stopped following them until this year. XD

Jeremy Jacobs doesn't care about that team--all he cares about is making money and putting butts in chairs. As long as he and Harry Sinden are involved with the franchise, it will continue to be a laughing stock.

Exactly. I think that trade was the worst ever. They traded the MVP of the league mid-season. Terrible; I must say he's quite unsuccessful at putting butts in the seats. I feel all of hockey is failing though, I think the league is a tad bit diluted at this point.

Most of the time they do not even watch the entire movie, they just watch a few extended clips.

Critics, particularly famous, nationally known critics get their fame initially for being quoted in movie ads....you don't get quoted if you say something mean (unless the copy writer is really creative with the elipses "Renowned director and writing team....great movie...Surprising"...okay, the review said "the renowned director and writing team should have been able to put together a great movie, which makes the sheer horror of this film surprising")

They are really part of the marketing team and should be viewed as such.

I find it much more useful to find a local reviewer who is clear about his/her views, even if I don't agree with them. That way, I can glean useful information from the review...if someone I never agree with on plot says "This movie has a wonderful, well executed plot" I figure I'll hate the plot...
