YEAH, I know this will be a popular thread, who doesn't luv the Borg Queen? Anyways, I was just re-watching FC, If you haven't seen it, STOP READING THIS THREAD RIGHT NOW! I'm giving away a major spoiler, Which leads into my question. Picard kills the Borg Queen at the end of FC, so how come she shows up in VOYAGER later? Is there more than one Queen? Like there are for bees? Or does one Queen rule all Borg Everywhere? This seems to be implied in FC. But if that is the case, wouldn't the Borg Queen's death in FC, ruin the whole Borg? Like they were in the TNG episode, "Descent", where due to the individual consciousness assimilated by the Borg from Hugh, they became unhinged from the group mind?

My take (in a nutshell) is that she is a master program for the consciousness and that her body is just physical - but not important.
She can come and go from anyplace in the collective she wants because she is everywhere simultaneously and possibly a body is just grown for her (in a maturation chamber) for her to physically inhabit as required.

That's a good theory, but doesn't that basically make her unkillable?

Wasn't the Borg Queen a later invention? She wasn't in TBOBW, although in FC, PICARD recalls that she wanted LaQutis as her consort, a Borg King?

In FC he says to her that, "... you were there...the whole time..." in refrence to BOBW.

The more we learned about the Borg the less scary they became, IMO...
But I also think the Borg Queen was created out of dramatic necessity in First Contact because they needed an actual physical villain for Picard and Data to square off with.

Also she served well as a love interst for Data.
