The score heard in the movie was great, as was the limited amount of material Varese Sarabande could put on the Soundtrack CD.

Very different tonally from previous Star Trek scores, it nevertheless embodies the epic adventure aspects of the movie, as well as reflecting the pain and beauty of everything Spock goes through.

Nero's theme was pretty standard bad guy music, but captured the menace he represented in the movie.

Favorite Tracks: Enterprising Young Men, That New Car Smell, To Boldly Go / End Credits.

Every cue on the CD was superb, though I would have preferred a couple of different selections:

- The mysterious music as Pike flies over to the Narada, with the suspenseful ending as Kirk, Olsen and Sulu are dropped.
- The landing/fight sequence on the Platform with Sulu's hero shot.
- The mysterious, heartbreaking music as Spock beams down to Vulcan and rescues the High Council, only to loose his Mother.

Wouldn't surprise me. Probably as off-the-rails as most of the threads on these forums
