The Inner Light...again.
Just got done watching the Inner Light for the 2nd time. WOW havn't cried that much in a long time. The bad thing is i'll probably watch it again in the future. The thing is should I?

I know what you mean.... which is why I try not to watch it anymore even though it's among the best TNG episodes ever. The other day I was on Memory Alpha and I only read part of the summary and it made me teary-eyed.
 Another episode I try to avoid is "Offspring" because it's sooooo heartbreaking...

Is a great episode as is Offspring, I find that these two, Sarek and Reunion are the episodes that bring a frog to my throat.

I've not watched 'The Inner Light' for a very long time but it is one of those episodes that works beautifully on an emotional level, just as 'The Offspring' does as well.

Great episode, but the problem for me is that I didn't have any sympathy with the aliens who sent the probe. I thought they were out of line for imposing a fake life on Picard without his consent and with all the memories of his real life on the Enterprise.
To paraphrase that awesome line from "The Chase"....if they were not dead, I would kill them.

The aliens were peaceful and you would have sympathy if you had been one of them like Picard. Watch the episode again, perhaps then you begin to understand it.
