I can only speak for myself. And I find the term offensive when used to describe the way I feel about Star Trek. I find that term offensive in any context.

I think there are two exceptions, where this term is generally allowed to be used.

1. If it is used in a sarcastic sense, like in Jerry Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi"

2. If it's used against Horatio
