They're classified as strange new life-forms...

If they make a new series, it should be good if they
stick with TOS style, or at least don't go too far in the future
like the dates of Star Trek Online.

Kelvin could be interesting.

Anything based on NuTrek will not be to my liking. I care about the Prime universe. I want to see how things turned out in that universe. I want to see how things came to be in that universe. NuTrek did nothing to satisfy any of my Trek curiosities, as it was all in another universe. LAME!!

As far as NuTrek goes what would they base it on? All they have is a movie and the accompanying novel. If a series did come along in the next couple years they'd likely run into canon issues with the movies quicker than the prime stuff did.

Thank God you restrained yourself, I shudder to think what would've happened otherwise.

Get over it.

The obscure source actually went out of its way to talk to an "exec" at Paramount while writing the article, which kinda makes sense cause said article was about future projects concerning movies, games etc. While there they were told CBS was considering a series, that's all that was said about it and that's all I said about it here. At it's worst it still fits the most basic definition of news which is: Information about recent events or happenings. The post was meant to bring it to everyone's attention cause hopefully it'll turn out to be a good thing.

Please, don't anyone slit their wrists because my thread wasn't the life altering experience my bold, over the top title made it out to be. I promise not to do it again. Maybe.

Single-nacelles ships are not new. Based on a computer display in TWOK:

And here the Kelvinized version, again from Tobias Richter:

Or if you wanna go old-school, a TMPified version:

Agreed, the concept is even in the Starfleet Technical Manual By Franz Joesph in the 70's.
