What are your thoughts on this aborted TV Series that became ST-TMP.

Do you think it would have been as successful as TOS became, or do you think it might have lasted a season or 2, and be forgotten?

Spock wouldn't have been in the series. He would have ben replaced by a Vulcan named Xon.

Uniforms Would Have Been Diffrent, More "Space 1999" Like.

A New Matt Jefferies Designed Shuttle For The Show

A Much Diffrent Phaser For The Show.

A Familar, But Diffrent Transporter Console

It would also have had Persis Khambatta.

I think the show might have failed. But it might have been a success. Remember, this is the year Star Wars revolutionized the box office.

She made bald sexy before Jean-Luc Picard! Trek history would have evolved in a totally different direction had this show gone through. We might never have had ST:TMP, TWOK, and its sequels; TNG might never have gotten made, etc. And if a movie franchise did evolve, it might have evolved out of Phase II instead of TOS.

I quite agree. I doubt any Trek movies owuld been made.

Alot of her Phase II elemnts got tranfered to Troi when TNG got started.

Riker was more like Decker of Phase II

Data was a 100% rip off of the Questor Tapes. A failed Gene Roddenberry Pilot.

As you have already pointed out, scripts and characters traits have been integrated into later Trek. I think it is hard to imagine how successful it would have been, but I doubt that it would have worked as well as TOS or the movies without Spock.

The actor who was to play Xon played Commander of the Epsilon 9 base in TMP.

We've had several actors play Vulcans (Tim Russ, Jolene Blalock) on a Star Trek TV series, but none have become as popular as Nimoy's portrayal of Spock.

I donno, Mark Lenard as Sarek was pretty popular, especially for a charater who only appeared in TOS 1 time.
