Sounds like a great opening for a video game of the movie, but you can't beat the Kelvin...

unless you're the Narada I guess.

But seriously, one of the strongest parts of the film was the opening and it'd be hard to beat that. Though anytime you can do something with the Paramount logo and make it work, it's always cool to see. Aside from the Indy movies I'd say Event Horizon had a nice play on the Paramount logo.

Back in 86' when TNG started production, they had an idea to use the Paramount moutain and use animation to have it change into the delta sheild communicator. But for some reason no one remembers, the idea got dropped when production actually started.

I don't think you would. The Kelvin would happen right after.

Exactly. Romulus is destroyed, Spock is born and then... the Kelvin.

Would have indeed.

When Romulus is destroyed, and nothing more (no Narada, no Jellyfish), it wouldn't have.

I think one of the best ever Paramount morphing at the begining of a movie would have to be "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

Just thought I would throw that out there.

The thing is in the cut that made it to the theater, when the Kelvin is being attacked at the beginning the audience isn't meant to know that much. I think they did it the right way.
