Default Interesting thought...

I'm wondering if the JJ Designed Enterprise could of been a contender for the Refit Enterprise. Like what if the Refit Enterprise we see in the first 6 movies was actually chosen AHEAD of some other designs that were on a drawing board in Starfleet, and the JJ Abrams design was rejected due to some unknown reason (Maybe it looked too organic?) Perhaps what we are seeing is that rejected design. Who knows, just a theory of mine.

Nah, we've seen lots of designs of what the PhaseII/TMP refit was or could have been like. This design is brand-new.

It's about a fictional design contest in the future, not about the real designs

Diffrent universes. Who knows when designs divereged, or if they had allways divereged from the prime universe?

Agreed. For all we know, it could be something as simple as being that the design was a result of it being built at the Riverside Shipyards, rather than at the San Francisco Fleet Yards.

One of the lead engineers at Riverside might have been a fan of Dolly Parton's...

But what I am saying is they drew the design like right after the Enterprise (Prime) was commissioned for its first 5 year mission, an early preliminary sketch.
