Default Mr. Abrams interested in an arc. Who was that TOS villian?

There was this reoccurring Klingon captain from TOS who always made things...difficult for Captain Kirk. I knew, as a kid, he was a baddie, but I always thought Captain Kirk could clean his clock. I mean, he looked so wimpy in that green and black suit, greasy beard and all. Drop kick 'em captain!

Anyway, he was a reoccurring bad guy. Rather than have the baddie die in the end, we could have this guy come back, but this time be someone that REALLY DOES pose a menace to Captain Kirk and the good ship Enterprise. Who was this dude from TOS, and what other villains could have a reoccurring appearance--just more relate-able and hate-able?

I don't remember a reoccurring Klingon.

You have to go to the Animated Series to see him return.
Kor (John Colicos) was initially designed to be a recurring Klingon nemesis.

A recurring antagonist would be in the style of the later Trek series (Q, Dukat, the Borg Queen etc) but in a movie franchise it depends on just how 'linked' they wish the new films to be.

I still vote for the trio Kor+Kang+Koloth

I always thought Kor and Koloth were a little innefectual. Kang, on the other hand, was a warrior I could respect.

They had planned to use Kor in that reoccuring role, but John was unavilible the next time they needed a Klingon. Then they were goijng to use Koloth, but Campbell was unavilible. Then they were going to try Kang, but by season 3 they knew it was over, and abandoned the idea.

That sucks. John Colis (sp) did a great job as a Klingon. I'd like to see the character Kor again, but Kang was one mean mutha. I'd like to see Kang go against Kirk, mono y mono on some desolate planet while their starships slug it out in orbit!
