Kevin Ellison that I mentioned above was released by the Seahawks. Apperently he failed a physical. That didn't last long.

I agree, there's a good chance is playing days are done before they even started. I feel for the guy. He just signed his rookie contract a couple days ago.

Also of interest, Mike Vick had a birthday party at a club and there was a shooting after a confrontation between a man that had been a codefendent in the dog fighting case and Vick.

One of the greatest coaches died. Don Coryell.

Other Chargers news is Vincent Jackson has been suspended for 3 games for code of conduct for 2 DUI's. That is 3 more games plus the 10 he plans on sitting for not signing his tenure. The the pro bowler refused to sign because he is looking for a long term contract. With a possible lock out next year it is smart move form the Chargers GM A.J. Smith to not sign long term contracts when its possible that there will be no football next year and with the NFL's strict Code of Conduct policy, makes Jackson a red flag for the team. Normally I don't car what a player does off the field as long as he gets the job done on the field, but with that strict policy, what players do off the field effects on the field. I'm not really worried about losing Jackson. The Chargers are looking to run the ball a little bit more and Rivers can throw the ball to anyone.

There's been a lot of trade talk around Jackson.

JaMarcus Russell arrested for possesion of a controlled substance, in this case codeine syrup. It just goes from bad to worse with this guy.

No charges to be brought in the shooting at a birthday party for Michael Vick. The police apperently know who the shooter is, but don't have enough evidence to bring charges. The victim and witnesses aren't talking.

Well, the opening of training camps around the league is right around the corner. What are we all thinking about our teams going in?

The Giants last season dissapointed in two areas that were thought to be team strengths. The running game faultered with a battered o-line and banged up running backs, and the defense didn't look like they could stop a high school team by year's end. The Giants brought in new DC Perry Fewell to help right the ship. Will he get this team back to playing Giants defense? Time will tell.
