I don't like the blur unless you're going to blur the lights on the ship like in Star Trek II and III

Honestly I think that's how it should be done with a firely red tail from the bussard scoups.

This is traveling at warp, not bursting/launching into warp. And not to scrap your hopes my friend, but, even when I do eventually create a shot like that, I won't do it that old II and III way, as that efx is way (out)dated, IMO. I much prefer the warp efx from XI myself.
