Default Couple of things noticed on repeat viewings

Watching the Star Trek ENT DVD's, a couple of things I noticed that I don't think I picked up on before was that when Archer is speaking to someone on the Viewscreen or towards the internal comms he tends to shout rather than speak in a normal tone even though as does most of the others. Is this something to do with the way the receivers pick up the audio or just something they do?

Second thing I noticed on the Star Trek ENT DVD is that they have unimaginable amount of lights on the ship. There are light panels on the ceiling, on the curves of the walls and then there are spotlights spaced out across the tops of the corridor walls, everywhere. I'd hate to be the person that changes and maintains the bulbs every time. Why would they need so many lights on the ship when it doesn't exactly make it any brighter but only add some ambience to the place?
