YES! More specifics from me was the acting and the story...It could, in fact, have used just a tad bit more backstory. I guess that's what "Star Trek: Countdown" was for.

Yep. Not only Countdown, but the new Nero series as well.

I really think the movie would have benefited from just a line or two between Nero and Prime Spock after the Narada captures Prime Spock. Wouldn't take much, just a little bit to flesh Nero out more.

I agree 100%. I look forward to seeing how much Nero was cut from the film once the Blu Ray arrives.

It's very interesting in the Nero comic to say the least, so I'm sure it will be cool in the deleted scenes as well.

I'll have to check that out, I'm one of these guys that only counts on screen stuff as "canon" but I'm still interested none the less.

Generally, I do as well, but I make special exceptions for a few novels and comics.
