Default Megan Fox to play Catwoman?

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukp...DP4vsq2tPQMX9w

According to new rumours, she has inked on the dotted line to play Catwoman in Batman 3 due out 2011.

The Batman series should present (if true) more of an acting challenge than previous roles. The casts of the Batman films so far has been of a pretty high calibre.

Hopefully just another rumour - like that previous talk of Eddie Murphy or David Tennant playing the Riddler...

Nolan indicated that he was going to skip the more 'famous' villains, with the Joker being an unusual exception to that. Catwoman, to me, is a bit too silly and comic-ish for the new Batman films, that've tried to maintain a more realistic, believable tone.

I'd prefer that if they do have her, a lesser known villain be the main villain with Catwoman backing him or her up.

They could make a darker Catwoman also. Jewel thief by night, high priced dominatrix by day.... using her "day job" to scout out rich targets. A great character adversary for Batman. To keep with the story he would have to be attracted to such a character... and vice versa. That in itself would make for some great character interaction. Maybe she sees Batman as a conquest in a different light in addition to a crime fighter. The idea popped into my head based on "Dark Knight Returns".

There. Easy retelling of the Catwoman mythos. The question is, could Megan Fox play that role convincingly and would Batman traditionalists accept it. Personally I enjoy different interpretations so long as they are well done.

The Joker was often silly and comicish as well, and look what Nolan did with that character. Who knows what he would do with Catwoman.

Transformers certainly isn't an acting challenge, but that said, I've read a couple of bits of early buzz on her work in the upcoming Jennifer's Body - which, ok, is no period drama - but at least means she has to put in a performance of some kind.

The word isn't so bad. If a talented director like Nolan were to work with her, he could maybe bring out something more substantial.

You know, Kim Basinger was pretty bad early on in her career and she ended up with an Oscar. Performers can improve!

Agreed. Plus, Basinger was quite good as Vicki Vale.

Probably just a rumor.
I just don't see Nolan casting her.
Schumacher would have though; no doubt.
But Nolan?
....no.
That, and Fox has been linked to Wonder Woman, the new Tomb Raider reboot....I mean, really.

I can see one or both of those happening. She could carry both of those movies to success.

I really like the eye candy Megan Fox provides, but I think she would cheapen the next Batman movie. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were both great movies with really good actors. Megan Fox would have to prove her acting chops well before being considered for a role in the next Batman movie, just my opinion.
