Voyager achieved a sense of isolation well in some instances, good examples being Void and Night. The effect would have been more obvious if the attrition of their resources and shuttles was a bit more realistic.

DS9 felt quite isolated, except getting back to Earth which if the writer wanted it to, often didn't take very long. TNG felt very safe, kind of suited it though, and was a nice transition from the safe federation seen there to the war stricken one seen in later DS9.

TOS IMO definitely felt the most isolated with the ship truly on the frontier of the known space. A lot more than ENT which shouldn't really have been the case but was unavoidable really.

I still like DS9 best but for "first" episodes, I quite liked Caretaker.

I dislike Encounter at Farpoint for so many reasons, so that is my least favourite Trek episode so far, ever. Although I do like tng generally as well.

Farpoint is far and away the worst pilot and one of my least favorite TNG episodes.

The Cage is pretty amazing sci fi especially considering its age. From the list WNMHGB is my fave.

I had not seen that photo before.

Susan Oliver was just amazingly HOT

Interesting fact: She was a pilot and in one of the more recent Trek novels, it was mentioned that Vina could pilot ships.

The story goes that the dailies would coem back and she'd be pink!!!

So they kept making the green darker and darker and refilming...every day she'd be pink again!!

So GR called over to fidn out what they were doing to the film, the guy says, "WOW, we thought the film was bad! She was SUPPOSED to be green??!"

Here you go, you'll appricate this one.
