Looks cool, but I wasn't blown away. I'll have to watch it a few more times in HD.

The reactions are also intriguing.
Check some of the comments on Trekmovie about it: http://trekmovie.com/2009/08/20/avat...g-zoe-saldana/ I'll go see it, but for whatever reason, this trailer didn't live up to the hype.

This is the problem - hype is an evil thing, because it's whipped up on the basis of nothing but spin and personal expectation.
Hype always lets you down because nothing matched the idea you had in mind. A lot of comments there about District 9 etc. Well, I've not seen District 9 yet but the trailer for that film left me going 'So what?' as well, but I'll go see it at some point anyway. I liked the comment about it being cheaper films that may be the way forward and I think that's true. Out of this years huge budget flicks only two films have really truly earned enough at the box-office - both US and worldwide - to justify their budgets (Harry Potter 6 and Transformers 2). The rest (even Star Trek) haven't quite brought in mega-bucks. The real hits this year are the smaller genre flicks (The Hangover - budget $35 million, global take $400 million+, The Proposal - budget $40 million and global take $250 million+, District 9 - budget $30 million, global take $50 million+) that were made cheaply, marketed smartly and actually made a genuine profit along the way. Spending $240 million on a flick nowadays is just too much to guarantee it will earn enough back these days. Few flicks really do.
