Typically, Peter David is an excellent writer. I guess everyone is entitled to one bad novel.

Vendetta really isn't exciting me a whole lot. Good, but not great thus far. Perhaps, I should take a break from Trek books for a while...

If memory serves (and it probably is 15 years since I read it so......) it takes a little while to warm up - I don't know how far through it you are - but it builds up a pretty epic head of steam by the finale.

Time hasn't been kind to the novel Vendetta, it was a much better read pre BOBW.

Was it not written afterwards? It features Shelby?

I wanna say she wasn't in it, but it's been a long time since I read, I have to admit.

She is, I'm positive because she is the first officer of the Repulse, one of the other main ships used in the book.

I'm going to have to yank it down and read it again!

It's set post-BOBW. However, the Borg are portrayed much as they were in Q Who? rather than what they've become. I like it and at the same time, I just can't get into. I may take a break and pick it up later.

That makes sense, becaue most of the Borg stories were unwritten by that time.
