The music makes the movie work. Without Goldsmith's music, I would probably put the movie on the same level as Insurrection.

Then if the movie needs a good score to do that - it's not a good movie. Music should add to the film, not make-or-break it.

i like all 10 movies ,all shows i will and forever be in love with trek,we ve been through alot as a franchise , bad and good times,we ve had sat on the throne of scifi and two steps from the abyss,here we re again,the crown of the genre is ours once again

One thing you must all understand is that I apply a lot of sentimental value to things from my childhood and TFF is very much a part of my childhood. It was the first Trek movie I ever watched. When I compare it even with all of the problems to a weak and boring film like Insurrection, it wins every time because at least it's entertaining (as well as nostalgic).

You're right. I have hard time describing my love of the film, because everyone else slams it into oblivion. I merely enjoy the film and don't over analyze it.
