I'm thinking about starting a Picard versus Captain Peter Quincy Taggart thread but i don't think it would be fair.

My point is that it's certainly not a Star Trek film, but it was a good break from the norm. It was sci-fi in a way I'd never seen it. So it wasn't Star Trek, but it was a good sci-fi film.

I thought it nailed the whole trek universe only better than TNG films ever did.

I love that movie. Allan Rickmans portrayal of Nimoy's "I am not Spock" persona was hilarious. And Sam Rockwell playing one of the red shirts, too much, LOL. Definitely one of the most fun "trek" movies.

"What is this thing? I mean, it serves no useful purpose for there to be a bunch of chompy, crushy things in the middle of a hallway. No, I mean we shouldn't have to do this, it makes no logical sense, why is it here?"
"'Cause it's on the television show."
"Well forget it! I'm not doing it! This episode was badly written!"

That was such a weird spoof of a movie though it was a good laugh though you cant compare it to ST.

"Galaxy Quest is the best Star Trek movie." is a comment I've heard a lot of times, specially from my friends. It's fun to say, definitely. But if you're going to be serious about this, the answer would be NO, because strictly speaking, Galaxy Quest is not a Star Trek movie. It's a incredibly hilarious spoof of a Star Trek movie. One of the best I've ever seen. As such, I can definitely consider it the best spoof of a Star Trek movie I've seen. Sam Rockwell's "red shirt" character is absolutely hilarious.

Right now, I consider Wrath of Khan as the best, with Voyage Home a close close second.
