According to the reports, Shatner and Pine met sometime before the movie was released. Shatner wished Pine good luck. End of story, I think.

Why should there be anything more than that?

Why should he? Shatner hasn't even seen every Trek movie he's been in himself and certainly hasn't any Trek movie he wasn't in. I even read somewhere Shatner's only seen a few actual episodes of TOS in his life--and only fairly recently. That likely describes 96% of Trek actors.

It was enough that he wished Pine well.

Leonard is the only one to stand by Trek not Shatner who doesn't care

I suspect Leonard Nimmoy's reason's for doing ST XI is more to do with the fact they offered him money to do it and less to do with some deep set loyalty to the brand name. He may have liked the idea too as that seems to be the main reason many actors do certain jobs - they get paid and they like the script/ idea.

Most Star Trek actors probably "don't care". And it's probably more of a case that "it was a job and I've moved on." Believe it or not, but the majority of Trek actors are not Trek fans. They are actors. It's just a job for them and their only concern is doing a good job when the cameras are rolling.

Possibly - if one ignores the fact that he turned down chances to play the character before and essentially had not acted at all for 18 years prior to agreeing to return.

I doubt the money had anything to do with his decision - he may simply have felt the script was something that was worth him returning for, unlike the others he had been presented with.

don't care about Shatner if he does or doesn't want to be in the sequel then who cares. I say bye bye Shatner hello Pine because he did a brilliant job.
