Default Secret behind Data's resurrection?

Quote:
[I’ve been holding back and trying not to ask this question throughout the entire interview. I finally blurt it out.] Captain Data, could you tell me what happened to you? And B-4? How was the Soong Foundation able to recover you?
[He gives me a slight smile.] I’m afraid I am not at liberty to say at this time.
I apologize for asking so personal a question.
Please do not concern yourself. It is, after all, a natural question to ask.
- Jake Sisko interviewing Data

The folks who did the Countdown and upcoming Nero comic say they want to do one about how B-4 became "Data".

Well, I mean it has been nine years since last we saw our TNG crew so things have certainly developed since then I'm sure.

Duh! It's no secret. Data downloaded all of his programming and personal experiences into B-4 in hopes that it would be a boost to his systems to upgrade him allow him to function on the same level as Data, in the movie Nemesis.
What transpired should be fairly simple to follow, the download was so extensive that it took much time to process all of the "data" until finally B-4 became Data.

I hated that whole concept. It just seemed pointless, like a cheesy way to stir up the fans by trying to recapture a little of Wrath of Khan. In the past killing a main character with out really killing them seems to be a slight problem for Trek. Practically every character* who's ever died has been resurrected in one way or another. At least with Spock there was a good reason for doing it.

*Redshirts not included.

Then why can't he tell Jake?

I hated this aspect of the Countdown comic. It doesn't seem fair, to B4 I mean. If anything, it seems contrary to Data's intent in downloading his programming in the first place. (And I say this not having liked B4 any more than the rest of you probably did)

It was like Tuvix... new character forcefully replaced by the known character.

Cheapens Data's sacrifice at the end of Nemesis to save Captain Picard too.
