Wow... This is seriously disappointing. Why can't they come up with a really cool game that actually has a story, some good interactions between the characters AND some kick-*** space battles?! Something along the lines of Mass Effect would be great.

This is sooooo lame...

Were you actually expecting a Mass Effect level game for 10 bucks?

Ah, but I didn't know it sold only for 10 bucks... But the point is, they really should develop a high quality game that people would actually enjoy playing... I don't think the fans would mind paying 60$ for something that would be worth it.

Agreed. Trek doesn't have all that great of a track record with gaming. Only a few have garnered high praise, so it would be nice if CBS would hire somebody to knock one out of the park for once.

It was thought that Bethesda (working with CBS) would've done so with Star Trek: Legacy....but alas, it seemed to be a half-finished release.

I enjoy the game, but it definitely has some issues.

Hopefully, Star Trek Online will rock. I have it pre-ordered.

I actually decided against pre-ordering STO. Just can't really put the money down on it at the moment. Please give me a full report once you get started with it.

I'll probably post one of my semi-pseudo-sorta-somewhat-quasi-famous-like video game reviews after I've played it a little.

For the moment, I will give you my impressions based on comments I've read by other posters at the game's official forums:

Some fear this will just be another Star Trek game with nothing but space battles and ground fights. I'm not sure just how genuine this fear is, although I will grant that most of the trailers I've seen have involved space combat and ground fighting. A more recent trailer seemed to have a bit more exploration to it, but still topped off with space and ground battles (the way a typical Trek movie trailer would.)
