To me, a Trek movie missing the Enterprise would be less of a movie. I just can't see it. I may not be as interested. Does Star Trek need the Enterprise? I say Y-E-S.

yes. I guess I want some Kirk vs. Klingon goodness on land but the ship does need to be in it a lot.

While I don't like the way the JJverse Trek turned out, it was a good action space adventure flick. We've been over this before.

If Paramount follows the growing trend in Hollywood logic, all decisions will be made by the Almighty George Washington dollar bill. If fast-paced lens flared, shakycam chaos images and sensory overload sells films then you can expect more of the same. There won't be any more reflective moments like those inside the Genesis Cave, or on Earth saving a pair of whales, or discussing life, and death with Captain Picard in the dream realm of the celestial ribbon.
It'll be called TREK, but it'll look more like Termiator, AvP, and transformers in the red, blue and gold shirts.

That's what i felt we got with this movie. I hope it isn't the case in the next movie.
