Default Year of Hell

Forgive me if this has been asked, I tried to search it, to no avail. My question is this. Did a year go by during this period? Or just a mere moment? Wouldn't it have to have been just a moment? I am confused! What are your thoughts?

I thought it 'technically' never happened - even though when it was happening a full year passed for the crew.

I agree. It never happened because the time ship was destroyed so all it's work was also destroyed.

This makes me wonder how many episodes throughout the history of Star Trek besides this one technically never occured.

it was such a good idea. when I saw the prequel episode where Kes is jumping through time and reference to the year of hell were made I actually thought they were going to make a season of it. typical of Berman to make a two part episode and reset the whole thing.

That was a big problem with Voyager. There were a lot of rehash episodes. How many times was Voyager destroyed, only to be saved by some time travel related phenomenon?
