Shatner looks way too old to account for the diffrence in his apparence from Generations. Spock was at least still aliive and getting older.

Having the Shat return is too fan-person to be belivable, that's why JJ didn't go that route.

Just have Chris Pine Kirk get infected by something, he ages away, then put William Shatner Kirk in. Easy.

I remember this idea when it was the TOS episode "The Deadly Years."

New Voyages did it too, with Chekov.

Not a good idea.

Actually I thought ST-NV did a better job with the subject matter.

They may have to do the Deadly Years route with him playing the older version of Chris Pine's Kirk.

Perhaps... if XI had not involved the old/young Spock.

It would be completely redundant if we went to the well again - this time with the Kirks.

And WS playing anyone else other than JTK is flat-out wrong.

Actually, that episode was pretty good. The guy playing young Chekov was excellent. And Walter Koenig played Chekov in that one too. It didn't fit into "canon" because Chekov died in the end, but it was a really good episode. Well written and acted for the most part.

The Shat could play Pine-Kirk's grandfather, Tiberius Kirk or something like that. Anything's possible.
