Welcome to my world. You want to really get ''Amazoned'' on a regular basis, you can become a member of the Star Trek Phase II forums. I had my own personal ''Thought Police'' officer there. After several incidents, the unfortunate ''chilling effect'' it has had on me has been that I will most likely never contribute anything of substance there, if at all, anymore.

It's a sad thing really. Sometimes I wonder just what these ''forums'' are really for. Even the word ''forum'' seems mis-applied.

Still, while I'm surprisingly disappointed that my record of not having a topic/thread I started here ''Amazoned'' now has a blemish on it, at least I can say that with that thread/topic in particular, I knew going in that it was going to receive a fair amount of ''oversight.'' I cannot say I was entirely surprised.

Interestingly enough, in following events concerning the original topic since, my point of view in starting that thread/topic was entirely in line with everything that has transpired since. To me, the word ''unfortunate'' as applied to the incident in question may actually be a blessing in disguise. This one event may indeed be an opportune moment and perfect atmosphere for a national dialogue on not only the race issue--which I sincerely believe did not apply here--but rather on the ''age of rage'' that has beset this nation in particular and made incidents like this increasingly prolific. Can you imagine, for example, if this atmosphere were ''the way it was'' (I miss Walter) during the Cuban missile crisis? Things might have turned out a lot different. ''Cooler heads'' indeed need to prevail now-a-days.

End of soap box.

Why not turn this topic to what can all of us do locally to make this a better world?

Good idea. Better to start a brand new topic properly identified so people can find it I think however.
