Default Stars getting busted, does the Paparazzi have anything to do with it?

I'm noticing a lot of movie stars getting arrested lately. There are always horrible mugshots and big embarrassing stories in tabloids to follow, which thing probably sells a lot of tabloids. Is it possible that the Paparazzi actually watch some of these stars, wait for them to have a beer and then jump behind the wheel of a car, or forget to tie their kid down in the back seat and then just call the local authorities and then "bam!", instant photos and story on page 1 of a fallen celeb in legal trouble. I'm not excusing the bad behavior on the part of celebs, but if a reporter purposely turned the life of that celeb upside down, to create a scandal to report, wouldn't that be just as bad? Some would argue, i'm sure, that if a paparazzi did see a celebrity commit an infraction of the law, they would be doing a public service by turning that person in, but if the motive is just to destroy that person for financial gain, then what? I'm not accusing anyone mind you, but I couldn't help but wonder about it, human nature being what it is.

Paparazzi are scum. Even if they stopped a murder from occurring, they'd still be scum. I can't even give them the benefit of having "human" nature.

They are bad, but you seem to feel a tad bit harsher toward them than I do. I see them more like sewer rats, looking for and taking any oppourtunity to feed, no matter how rotten and festering the meal is. The real scum are the people who pay them for the refuse they bring back with them when they're done, and then send it out in living color so everyone standing in line at the grocery store checkout has to see it. I personally believe Tabloid journalism doesn't qualify for the right of freedom of the press. They aren't responsible, they don't tell the truth, and they don't report the news, they just air dirty laundry and feed off of the mistakes and errors of others without bothering to notice their own. If they were all shut down tomorrow, It would be a merrier world to live in.

Movie Stars have allways typically behaved badly, but in this "instant media" age it's just reported more. You don't have studios and agents having enough time to "cover up" lapses in judgement.

I would rather blame the folks who read tabloids than the reporters.

As far as I know, law has been adapted in the last years to reset the definiton of what is considered to be public and private (of people who appear in public life) such that celebrities can now sue paparazzi who misbehave.

True, but they tend not to.
