It smells bad, its everywhere and considering a permanent moon base it could also proove a problem for equipment and the health of the stations personal (think of asbestos and lung cancer).

I wonder what Mars smells like.

Probably napalm, as in "I love the smell of [Mars] in the morning. It smells like ... victory." (From Apocalypse Now.)

After all, the Red Planet IS named after the god of war.

Oddly enough, Ares is the name of the booster that will send NASA's Orion spacecraft to Mars, under current plans. Ares is the Greek god of war. Prolly not a coincidence.
