Default Star trek In a Mirror, Darkly

Would you watch if star trek went in this direction as the next series staring the ISS Enterprise E
Or ISS Voyager or even all the ships

Maybe an invasion of the federation could take place

United Federation VS Terran Empire

I think it would be new and way cool Both Matched and some new cool story lines could take place ( star trek finally going in a new direction)

It already happened years ago in the DC Comics series...

There was a comic book I read when I was kid (a thick one) that dealt with this exact story of the empire taking over the federation. I think it was called the mirror universe saga and it takes place just after the events in Star Trek 3 pitting the 2 kirks against each other. I still think it was a good story and thought how cool it would look as a mini-series or a movie.

See my post above yours, bintrepid...

The story ran for months in the comics, I believe they were finally released in an ominbus edition.

I don't think that idea would ever really fly. While it is interesting, I'd rather see a series based on our primary Trek Universe. It's held my attention well through my lifespan and I think a new series should definitely mingle a couple of these episodes in there, though.

Think it would lose it's luster if it was a regular series. One of the special things to the mirror universe episodes for me was the novelty.

While I respect the idea, I don't think it could fly as a television series. An episode arch, yes, perhaps even a mini-series, but I don't think you can get 24 episodes for 7 years out of it. It's being different was the whole point anyway.

Also comes the question of where you start it. And depending on where you start it, who is the protagonist and who is the antagonist?

It's alright but I think the mirror universe is better suited to "occasional use".

I came up with an idea whereby the mirror Universe could be frequented often, or even another 'parallel' Universe. This would be because my idea outlined that the other Universe counterparts of this as-yet-non-existent series would not be totally evil and aggressive towards the primary counterparts, but sort of friendly - but not 'tamed' in any way.
