I still say - transporter accident that proves Spock's equation isn't ready for general use.

Helps canon out and removes annoying little teletubby.

I didn't have a problem with him, he certainly wasn't on the level of buffoonery that Jar Jar was.

Yeah, a transporter accident sounds good. Maybe he gets reconstituted with the pattern of Archer's beagle.

I don't understand why people have a problem with Keenser. He's used for a single "cute" joke in the movie: the wibbly lip bit. And, come on, every character's at least a bit silly once. (Except Pike.) Otherwise he appears to be an interesting character equally as bitter as Mister Scott and I would be happy to see him in the next movie.

His other jokes are entirely straightfoward, the grumpy "Me" and the bit where he takes the wrench from Scotty and then throws it aside and you can just tell these two guys don't give a hoot about their jobs in the butt end of nowhere.

His design speaks volumes. He's clearly an underground, low-light dwelling species that's extremely adroit at climbing probably from originating in cavern systems. The climbing stuff seemed to me to be very much the product of design considerations. I think the design's fantastic and I'd be interested in learning more about his species and culture.

Seems like an interesting alien individual to me and I'd love to see him as deputy chief of engineering with him and Scotty running the place being grumpy with each other and demanding of their subordinates.

Honestly, this poll doesn't represent my option so I just chose the most pro-Keenser one. I think he's got plenty of potential as a legitimately serious, interesting character.
