The Internet... I googled the other day and found a lot of places.

Be careful though, some are made very cheap.

To tell you the truth, if i were one of the fortunate few people chosen to act in this film, even a bit part, whenever i wasn't actually working before the camera, i'd probably just sit around being totally thrilled all the time. I'd know that i had hitched my wagon to a well established comet that would leave me basking in it's glow for the rest of my life. To be a part of Star Trek, even a tiny part, is a dream of fantastic proportions for me. I can't really put it into words.

I'd love to have a bit part as a Captain of a ship, even if I died before the credits...lol.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. It would be such a thrill!

if it were me i would want to give TOS fans what they want first and formost. if they do that they are more than half way there. it would be an honour. i would (some have already done) contact the original guys to talk to them about the character, get to know them etc. i would also watch all the episodes if i were unfamiliar to get what the part was.

im excited and scared about this new movie.
cheers

cheers Zardoz. thanks for your comment. i never thought this day would come where by we are actually going to see other people playing these iconic roles. its all a bit scary. i grew up with these guys and have always loved them. we sort of grew old together too as we saw them each time with each movie as it came out. i just hope they do it justice. i am hopeful tho and really wish them all well.

its a big movie in many ways. i never was interested in any other trek series after TOS. to me it had everything. i love it as much today as i did when i was a kid. if i dont like it then in my own mind it'll never have happened!! a bit like the generations movie!!!!. i still cant accept that my hero james T kirk fell off a bridge to his death. its a nonsense in my opinion. ive erased from my memory banks! its a shame shatner isnt in it. he was such a HUGE part of that incredible series.

cheers

Well it is logical to bring TOS back. I figured that was the goal when they started doing the remasters of TOS.

The TNG franchise is over for now. For a movie audeince, there wouldn't be enough of a broad base to make a DS9 or Voy, or even a ENT movie pratical, and profitable for the studio right now.

So I can see why doing a "Casino Royale" treatement of TOS would be pratical for trying to breathe life back into this franchise. You have almost all new actors, who are young enough to continue for a few sequels. You don't have to deal with the age/death/ego factors of the surving TOS actors overall.

I feel if this film does well and spawns a sequel, or two, you might see another TNG movie try or a DS9/Voy/TNG film.

hi zardoz
yes i guess your right. i thought it might be a return to TOS at some point-just a shock when it was announced for real and then you start seeing whos got the parts. that has been exciting.

i agree that TNG is over for now. i must admit ive never been a fan but it has carved itself its own fan base. i wonder if we will see this 5 captains movie thats been around for a while. one way to get ALL the star trek fans into a theatre. i agree that DS9 and enterprise, voyager dont have enough of a following to warrant a movie of its own.

seeing kirk, spock, mcCoy and scotty etc on the big screen again (with different actors) is going to very strange indeed - but as i say im so excited but scared at the same time. these characters are LEGENDARY so lets hope the movie is worthy of them. from what ive seen and heard so far JJ looks like hes doing a good job.

cheers
