The WG is kind of a "farm team" for Olympic sports, in the sense that only non-Olympic sports can be played in them, and yet the fact that those sports are played in the WG may be a point in favor of their consideration for inclusion in future Olympics.

Of course, orbital skydiving is not even in its infancy; while very high altitude skydiving has occurred, there are apparently no instances as of yet in which anyone has parachuted from orbital heights.
