I think it will go away from the big political issues and away from the main characters and show stories around the Outlaws in the Outer Rim instead.

At least there once were rumors none of the main characters should appear, at least no Jedi and force stories, and a bounty hunter could be one of the important characters.

I think something in the Firefly/Serenity style would be cool.

I think Star Wars oughtta look damn good as a live action TV show. Look at the VFX of non-Lucas productions like the new Battlestar Galactica, or Firefly. Those shows were wayyyyyy too big for the small screen with their visuals. Now, imagine a powerhouse like Lucasfilm getting into the fray.

Star Trek didn't enter development until 2006/2007 so there's no jumping on the bandwagon involved here.

I heard them talking about a Star Wars TV show for awhile before Clone Wars showed up on the radar, then when it did, i thought this was the show they were talking about. I figured the rumors about a live-action show were false and this is what we were getting instead. So this news caught me completely off guard!

I believe some of it (especially the early parts) will be the continuation of the Jedi extermination, just so there's Jedi lightsaber fights and Darth Vader can be featured as a badass.

Here's my guess on the outlaws, rogues and ne'er do wells... the youth of Han Solo and maybe even the re-introduction of Chewbacca at some point.

There might be some news articles around somewhere, but if I remember right, they were both mooted around the same time, but the live action series had more development issues (concept, effects etc) and they were able to get Clone Wars up and running quicker.

I read that Lucas was thinking a BSG feel for this show. Well, if the writing is of that caliber it'll blow the new trilogy to Alderan and back. Now if you excuse me, I have some power converters to tend to.
