Too bad this show isn't placed AFTER episode VI. I'm getting a bit tired of these stories being placed in between or before something we already know happened. It took me awhile to warm up to ENT for this very reason. In the end we know what will happen in episode IV, so all the plots in this series will be somewhat pointless. I'll probably still watch!

Well, there's a good 30 years of events in there that can provide fuel for the storylines. I'm hoping they have solved the problem of making the TV effects match those of the films.
I have a feeling though it will be a show that will either flop horrifically or hit orbit right away.

I am not particularly into Wars, but the Clone Wars series is fine IMO, and as Lucas does not like the post Episode VI area, the time between III and IV is the most natural one to explore.

The rise of the Empire, the scattering of the Jedi, The Emperor tightening his grip on a Galaxy and weakening the Senate.
Could be a very strong drama series - if it's done right.

If they're planning this thing to be a summer series, then there may only be thirteen or so episodes a season--which actually might be the best for all involved, IMO.

I give much hope into this, I think this will become more adult than the Prequel Trilogy and as far as I know GL hired some drama autors, to make it darker again. And an other good sign: The story will be ready before the filming starts. With the well-heeled GL there shouldn't be any financial problems or huge changes in fear of being canceled. So if everything goes right this should become great.
