I don't see any "spin" in that story. In fact, I don't see much of a story. If it were in Popular Mechanics or Scientific American would anyone call it "spin"?

The bias and "spin" is in the mind of the beholder.

The manufacturer certainly didn't claim it would eat humans -- Fox kind of spun that, no?

And now it's in YOUR mind, too! :evil laugh:

And yes, if any other outlet said that it could eat humans, I would say that they'd spun it, too. That said, Fox's manipulated stories all too often resemble a top in super-duper revolution mode.
