That probe thing was rather sinister. Who was really the villian of V. Sybock, the Klingons or the God being? That movie had really confused villians. I think if they would have done it right, it would have been really interesting so see a passionate, ruthless, murdering Vulcan doing whatever he had to do to accomplish his mission. That kind of Vulcan would be really scary.

Zardoz, the probe was not a villian…it had no evil intent…it was simply trying to communicate (and, as noted, this is Nimoy thing…he loved the fact that HIS Star Trek movie didn’t have a bad guy).

NCC1701 I would vote that the villian of V was the "god" being...it was his thoughts that drove Sybok toward him. I would put Sybok as a victim.

Yeah, but he really wasn't that believeable or scary. I think they could have made him more evil. I think the villian is better if they can develope him more and give him more screen time unless they are debuting the villian and getting him/her ready for their next appearance as the main villian. Khan was great because he had a TOS episode and a movie to develope and show his villianous.

I don't even remember sybok at all or what he was supposed to be doing in that movie. It was just stupid...and pointless.

**sigh***

NC...ask youself this: if the "God" being is Satan as described in the Bible, what import is there to the fact the Enterprise participated in his destruction?

I think that's a valid question, having read the Bible...

Saquist... *sigh*

Eliza-

Ok, I give you that it had no "evil motivation." But slicng up a world isn't excatly freindly Probe activity either. Can you imagine the Voyager (Nasa Probe) coming to a world and finding no humans on it, staring to cut up land?

The "God" in Trek 5, was just a manevolent life-form that had been imprisoned behine the barrier, he just used Sybok to get him out, that simple.
