The film stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation) and Liam Neeson. Louis Leterrier, director of the most recent Incredible Hulk movie, will direct the script which is getting reworked by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Yeah, the guy whose working on the Robotech live-action script. I loved Harry Hamlin in the original, looks like this version will get the 300 treatment. |

Man, what a tuff crowd! I can't tell much from the pics, but I am open to a remake of almost anything. I enjoyed Clash of the Titans as a kid. I hope the remake remains as true to the original as possible.
Saq, what do you mean by "belittle V" ? I thought the preview looked good.

TV's on the Bottom of Interstellar Starships....
Who designs a ship like that? GAG-ME... That's Hollywood sensationalism once again swiping the "Why Not" Card Account... ...a never ending cash flow of the unrealistic and unlikely.

I think the giant image on the bottom of a space ship is the LEAST thing to worry about when talking about "unrealistic and unlikely". I find the idea of an alien race coming to Earth and needing to fool people into becoming their food source most unlikely! With such advanced tech you would imagine they could TAKE what they wanted. That episode of The Twilight Zone, the one with the cook book "how to serve man", I figured that was part of the inspiration for V.

I'm not talking "like" I mean that's not realistic.
Who builds a ship for the express purpose of watching TV on the underside... A potential ONE TIME USE for taking over a planet? It was just tiles that turned over...like something out of Chicken Little. Very unimaginative Cliche' Unrealistic sensationalism and one of a few signs that the movie will have no other purpose but to attempt to be sensational but ultimately will try too hard. NBC doesn't do good TV out the gate.

See...300 (was inspiration) and ididn't even see it.
But you can tell. The cinematography was fantastic and artistic... The action looked not just sensational but awe inspiring, Epic...it was a classic as soon as we saw the previews. V was inspiring too. inspirational in it's themes about the holocaust bring closure and recognition to freedom fighters and even addressing very very powerful ideas while doing so in a realtivelly convincing even though hollywoodish manner or should I saw an American manner... Goodguys always win.

Taking a wait and see approach...the usual.
I'll rend it limb from celluloid limb if I feel the final product warrants it. |
