that wouldn't make it star trek really.
They avoided that to such an extent it would seem somewhat sureal. The closess I remember is the episode where they when to the planet with the flying viruses and his brother and wife die.

There is still a lot on the plate for Abrams, the writters, and the actors. When I watch TOS the questions still pops into mind about their pasts. Now in one of the episodes, McCoy mentions that they known each other in the academy and but then Spock would then be assigned to a ship.
To me it just would be logical so at least get a reason why Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Sulu, Scott, Chekov, Uhura, Chapel, and Rand joined the academy in the movie. Yes, I know that Chapel did it to find her fiance. Also, we still dod not know the main argument between Spock and Sarek, Spock's reason for going. We just know that Sarek was dissapointed. |

McCoy could have been a guest lecturer, or an instructor, during Kirk's Academy days. Since there was a age diffrence between the two, it would be logical conclusion.

I assure you it's unlikely they'll address all these questions it's behard enough fitting in the script. Somethings will not be possible because of schedule.

Dang, just how long would this movie have to be in order to cover everyones past?
I think they have more than enough characters in the movie already, and to try to explore the past of more then Kirk and Spock would be going to far. |

2.5 to 3 hours. Hey, honest to Heavan it's damn ruff to do this movie but if there is a chance for some explaination that Gene never gave us in time, then this movie can provide it. It doesn't have to answer everything, that would be illogical.

Maybe some of the other past crews could be addressed in the next film.
