I'm so pissed! I took the DMV written test for the 5th time and I got 7 wrong! The maximum you can get are 6 if you are a first-time driver...Ugh. I swear, I study the dang book over and over and they still change crap. Ugh, they just make it harder for you. :[

Yes I know some of them can trip you up. But 6-7 out of how many?

There are like 30 questions and you can miss up to 6.

Check your local DMV's website- they may have a practice test. Also, the back of the driver's manual may have a test. Those usually have just about every test question they ask (DMVs rotate the tests).
Hubby and I had to get a local license after he retired, so we studied the book. I aced it- he didn't. Both of my boys had to take it twice when they got their licenses. Now, don't you know all the men in my house will never live it down?! ![]() |

Hmmm.... Thats pretty par for the course. For 30 questions allowing 6 incorrect answers as a pass fail is pretty fair. Basically they want you to get at least a 'B-'.
On these tests most are of the 'common sense' variety but there are always a few that check to see if people actually read the manual. Quite often what drivers do as standard practice on a day to day basis is against the law. There are always a couple questions that deal with this. |

And Obama wants your health care to be run like this too!

And it's interesting how they still get their licenses. It's like they study the book just for test memorization rather than actually using that knowledge while driving haha! Ughh...

I'm not an American so excuse me if I'm asking a silly question - how would a health care system be run like an exam?

Once you get called they'll have you fill out some forms, you'll need 3 forms of ID, and your old license can't be one of them. Then you get to go to another waiting area where you have to wait for a test station. You should have packed lunch because it'll be 2 pm before you get a station. Now that you've gotten to your station you can begin your exam. You scan the ID they gave you and the screen comes up for you. In Spanish, which you don't read. Now you need to get the attention of an attendant, there's about 30 people working, but no one is listening to your calls for help. You finally get someone's attention. They think you are trying to cheat on your test, and now the time has expired on your station and you've got to go back and wait. You sit in the waiting area while those 7000 illegal aliens I mentioned file by getting their photos plastered on a shiny new ID/Driver's license. Which by the way enrolls them on the voter roles so they can vote in the next election. Finally you get to a station, which comes up in English, and you begin. You never get to finish since it's 4:30 and everyone knows that government workers always leave early. "You'll need to come back tomorrow, Have a nice day!" I don't know what your experience is with government run agencies, but I have friend from London who visited a year ago. Their little girl got hurt and needed stitches at the Emergency Room. We went and were there about 3 hours altogether. I thought I would die waiting, and I apologize to Sarah and Jay profusely for it taking so long. They thought I was joking with them. they said for the services Lexie needed they'd have been 8 or 9 hours in a hospital in London. My example of the DMV is slightly exagerated, but to make the point that once the government gets involved with all the layers and layers of beauracracy you can bet nothing moves smoothly.

Besides, Obama is NOT trying to replace anything, only supplement. I had this same conversation with my father and it's amazing how many people completely misunderstand what has been proposed.
