Default What do you do to chase the blues away?

When life throws me curve balls, or somebody rains on my parade, I watch cartoons. For some reason, Bugs Bunny, Wyle E. Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Michigan J. Frog, etc., never fail to cheer me up and make me feel like the world isn't a half bad place after all. What does it for you?

Good Music...turn it up halfway, turn on the Karaoke, and sing along...always gets me in a better mood.

Sit back drink some Earl Grey Tea listen to some music and just chill out. Or just turn to my wife and vent for a bit.

Sex always helps... Failing that, I just try to break my routine, and go someplace I haven't been to before. There's also a great place in Little Rock called "The Old Mill" (search Google Images to see it) I've gone there a few times just to meditate, and get away from the same four walls of my workplace.

I cut out work early and go for a drive to the seafront. Then turn around and drive back.

If it's a lesser dose of the blues - I watch some comfort TV (usually something of the 1980s - The Golden Girls works, so does Moonlighting or TNG, or Frasier).

Sometimes the CD Alphabeat by Alphabeat works a treat. The song 'Fascination' never fails to brighten me up.

Blasting upbeat music really helps me. Also reading a great book, or going shopping for something completely indulgent (especially something scented like lotion, bath stuff etc - scents really pick up my mood). If all else fails, I call my mom and grouse. Mom always takes my side.

I watch a fun movie, read one of my favorite books, or call my best friend.

Come October 27th, I can watch ST 2009 to my heart's content- no blues then!
