Alternate Kirk should have found the locket on his own in the cave and opened it himself. Would have really driven home what had happened to his universe.

Some of those scenes sound like they would really help drive the story. I hope eventually they will end up in an "extended edition" DVD. DVDs can be longer (that ability to stop the movie, go eat dinner, grab the mail, let the dog out...then go back to the movie is amazingly freeing).

The bit about the locket sounds just stupid. I can only guess it was an initial attempt to "use Shatner" and when they read it they all went ***BARF!!!***...plus, I have to think it would come off as a bit slashy, no matter how it was played.

I think that's the reason it never got past the ideas stage.

I think it'd have been the Great Hamm Himself what would have stymied that more'n anything else.

I think he prefers to be called "The Big Giant Head".

Why didn't the Klingons just use their Mind Sifters?

You know they're going to offer 10 different versions so some people will rush out and buy every single one for that extra 5 seconds of deleted scene. It's the money making machine in full swing.

Well, Paramount releasing endless re-issues and editions of Star Trek material wouldn't exactly be a new phenomenon!
