Yeah, I liked the Galaxy second, I voted for the Constitution refit, but the Galaxy is a very original design. I can't think of anything outside star trek that quite looks like it, it was a great revisioning of the Constitution, cause for all practical intents and purposes that was what it was designed for, to show an Enterprise a hundred or so years after Kirk's time and it works! It seems to come from the same world as TOS, yet it has a very beautiful, almost not practical design, it's as if they designed it as a work of art, the thing looks like a sculpture. Said this another post, but it always reminded me of a whale or somesort of marine life. Besides it carries families, that would carry over into it's design as well. That top heavy look comes from lots of living quarters. Lots of the crew would bring their children onboard, it was a different ship than Kirk's. Even Picard pointed that out in the pilot, saying he wasn't comfortable commanding a ship with kids on it. It's not a ship of war, but it certainly can defend itself. It also looks dangerous. If I saw it coming at me, I'd have my hand on the shields button! All around great design in my opinion and you can put a camera anywhere around that model you want and get a good looking shot.

I voted for Intrepid.

I really like the Excelsior Class type ships too because they are so big and clunky. Put some Rims and Spinners on that bad boy!
Ah...no.
But yes...Defiant is the name of the ship class.
So thought it was Valiant at one point.

The science vessel class is the Oberth class Livingston. I voted for the constitituion because she is essentially the "posterchild" for Star Trek. All the ships have something special and it is a difficult choice.

The Enterprise J also looked pretty cool but I don't think it is in a special class because it is a "future" vessel.

Default I voted for the Ambassador class.

Not quite as big, showy or impressive as the Galaxy, but far better balanced all around. Big enough to take some serious damage, powerful enough to dish it out. This ship looks the part of explorer and yet could hold it's own in battle against most single opponents. True, it was overwhelmed by Romulan Warbirds, but if it had been a single Warbird, or even two, i believe the Enterprise C would have not only survived, but devestated it's enemies. No one ship is a fleet, but her design is sound and her lines put one in mind of one the old British ships of the line. The Ambassador is the epitomy of a tall ship. All a captain needs is a star to steer her by. I love this class and would like to know more about it. I feel like the Ambassador never truly got her due.

USS Defiant Defiant Class
USS Reliant Miranda Class
USS Grissom Oberth Class
These are the more known ship classes as there are way more but I just wanted to offer a quick look at them all.

Thank you Berengarius.
Here's also a look at Enterprise J from the future episode of Enterprise. The name escapes me at the moment.

She's classified under the unknown class.
