I keep hearing that Rick Astley (a famous 90's pop singer, famous for starting the internet phenomenon "rickrolling") has died in a hotel room in Germany? is this true?

BERLIN: Known for his 1980s pop hit Never Gonna Give You Up, 43-year-old Rick Astley has been pronounced dead Tuesday.
His body was found at the Angleterre Hotel in Berlin after an ambulance responded to an emergency call from his hotel room.
Astley was found unconscious in his hotel bedroom and was unable to be resuscitated. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Somehow I doubt it - 'celebrity death internet rumours' are rife these days, and Astley's a sure-fire target for any online prank.

I doubt it - it's the same style hoax that said Jeff Goldblum had died the same day as Micheal Jackson.

It's a hoax. Just Google his name and you'll find several peices exposing the hoax. My favorite was the Pythonesque headline: "Astley Not Quite Dead Yet."

I bet Presley and Morrison isn't dead either, just rumors that got out of control.
