Shatner on The Tonight Show

It happens a bit over 5 minutes into the clip. At 7 minutes, Shatner demonstrates a hand gesture he is capable of making.

Quinto had problems with the Vulcan salute. I think I read that he hooked his fingers together with rubber bands to practice. (and, really....he didn't do a great job of it in the movie).

Having practiced that endlessly as a child, I can do that with both hands too.

I should have read all of these posts, I just posted the same thing. Sorry! You beat me to it!

The clip you linked is shorter, so might be easier for people to watch. No worries!

I've tried many times and I can't do it.

And I think I can't raise one eyebrow without raising the other.

My dad says: "I can lift one eyebrow! Look!"

And proceeds to lift both eyebrows... because he has a sort of monobrow...

Whoa... Well, at least it's not a necessary life skill, haha.

I can do the Vulcan salute with both hands, but I cannot even raise my eyebrows, IF I am thinking about them....my friends say I can do the Spock brow, but I can't seem to do it in front of a mirror, so I don't know for sure on that. I can do a really good Elvis sneer, though...sorta like Khan.

You don't have to apologize because us folks who don't live in the US don't have access to videos posted on Hulu. If you hadn't posted the YouTube version, I wouldn't have been able to watch it, so many thanks because that was hilarious!!!

I can do the Vulcan salute with both hands, but I can only comfortably raise my right eyebrow. It's more difficult to do the left...and, I'm right-handed.
