I can raise my right eyebrow and my wife can raise her left. Works for symetry. And we can both do the Vulcan salute with both hands. And we're both right handed.

Same here! But ultimately, who cares if Quinto doesn't raise the same eyebrow as Nimoy did?! Seriously, people...

Wait...it's possible to NOT be able to do the Vulcan hand salute thing? I need to meet one of these to see it for myself.

I can raise both and make waves, too.
And I can do multiple things with my hands...

Shatner can't do it. He was on Conan O'Brien's show and Conan thought it was just hilarious that Shatner, the "Trek Man" couldn't do it....Shatner didn't think it was that funny.

Shatner on The Tonight Show

It happens a bit over 5 minutes into the clip. At 7 minutes, Shatner demonstrates a hand gesture he is capable of making.

Quinto had problems with the Vulcan salute. I think I read that he hooked his fingers together with rubber bands to practice. (and, really....he didn't do a great job of it in the movie).

Having practiced that endlessly as a child, I can do that with both hands too.

I can alternate between the Vulcan Salute and having my middle finger and ring finger touching with the index and pinky spred. Quite fast. With both hands. Or one at a time!

And I can do a very good Spockbrow with my right eyebrow, but a not-so-good one with my left. And I am right handed, but that has nothing to do with the ability to do it, I just fel into the habit of raising one eyebrow at people, and it happened to be my right one...

I didn;t start this thread for nitpicking. It has turned out to be rather fun, with people chiming in on what they can and can't do! As far as Quinto, I was merely curious if on TOS Spock raised his right. Chill friend!
